Central Banks Explore Smart Contracts Under BIS Project Pine

The New York Fed and BIS are testing smart contracts to help central banks respond instantly in a future tokenized financial system. Called Project Pine, the experiment used Ethereum-based tools to simulate real-time changes in interest rates and collateral during market stress. The report said smart contracts offered speed and flexibility, letting central banks adjust policies on the fly.
